collaboration à des projets de vidéos...

Requested as a dancer, Juliette Louste collaborates in various projects with other choreographers, audio-visual artists, musicians…

Developed in a variety of contexts and marked by the style of the artistic director of the project, each one is a completely different journey.

    Esquisses

    2008

First exploration in the audio-visual world, this adventure was born from the collaboration with the photographer Adrià Goula. Inspired by the dreamy and at the same time intoxicating voice and music from Joana Newsom, the innocence becomes the watchword to re-meet and rediscover a simple and familiar environment. The undergrowth turn into a playground that allows the exploration of movement, the sunlight morphs into a beam sharpening the meticulous observation, and the sound of the voice and the harp becomes the inside whisper of the ingenuity, of the body and the soul trying to meet in a perpetual hiding game, giving birth to a plain, pure, honest and singular video.

    2012

A expedition journey to the centre of an abandoned hotel in a small catalan town. Begues, emblematic symbol of the music world, inhabited by the body and the soul of the two “Julie”, one Julie Fahrer, Swiss jazz singer, the other Juliette Louste, French contemporary dancer. Using the same instrument, the body, that they explore each one with their own language, stripped of pretension and pushed by their honesty and passion, both adventurers strangely similar and yet so different, they start a dialogue within the physical and harmonic shapes that are drawn freely and spontaneously in this space filled with past. The visual and melodically lines attract us to this extemporal universe sublimated by their presences, tinted of ingenuity and phantasmagoria enhanced by the strange décor.

    All Inside - rencontres

    2012

All inside is a video project directed by the multidisciplinary artist Anne Macairet who, focusing lately on visual arts, wanted to work on the femininity and the plurality that characterises it. Working around movement, she meets a few women, giving them freedom to guide that meeting so that a unique portrait of each of them is created, between words and images. A choreographic journey is then drawn on the flank of the feminine multiplicity. It is in the core of this project that Anne and Juliette met through a camera. Twice. The first time, on a beach, with two instruments of the observed woman, the body and the violin. The second time, on the ruins inside a forest, where the dancer dialogues this time with the singing voice from Laura Noah.

    2013

This adventure is developed in collaboration with the visual artist Marcos Davi and the dancer Juliette Louste. Literally built as a discussion fed by both dance and video, two languages so close yet so far, sometimes even opposed, both parts dialogue around the hauntingly Brad Mehldau’s music. In the core of a neutral space, the famous black box, empty space allowing all kinds of journey, only the light makes the link between the dancer’s movement and the cameraman’s one, allowing their meeting, spontaneous, simply guided by the music. The images follow the same line, aiming to highlight this dialogue devoid of artifice.

    2015

A new meeting between different universes and points of view. One time, one space, one body… a huge feeling of emptiness, almost monochrome. Get lost, or find oneself, in one of those deserts, black, inhabited by the past and inviting, or forcing, to introspection. A project lead by the filmmaker Marco Schott, coming from Germany, and the dancer. A honest and simple meeting, blossoming from the desire of staying few hours in this space, this desert made unique by the presence of this abandoned flight. A reflexion on the time passing, explore throughout the eternal, and polisemantic, notion of “black boxe”. Always aiming the interdisciplinary and intercultural collaboration, as much as pursuing the idea of creation in all the universes involved, the musicians Hjalti Steinn Sigurdarson and Leifur Eiríksson came to add their Icelandic touch to the sound track.

    DDD - DCODE

    2010

The new technologies of information and communication amplify the artistic possibilities and the impact and the cultural broadcast. This project, DCODE, debuted for the 20 years of the festival Dies De Dansa of Barcelona, and has spread since in the whole network of Ciudades Que Danzan, allowing the users to navigate on the network map and giving them access to recorded dance clips in public spaces of their cities through the iPhone application, first of its kind. After the realisation in collaboration with DDD, in Barcelona, it has been the first project of great breadth in which has participated Juliette Louste, as a producer, dancer and choreographer in 3 videos among the 20.

    2013

It started as a short piece directed by Carlos Bonilla created in collaboration with Juliette Louste. Through the photographer, and in this case director, Cassandra Stuyt, the adventure has turned into a video-dance. The topic stays the same: the origins of a story. The beginning of a tale, it's the discovery, for the first time, of a world, and without knowing its habits and customs, meet someone along the way who will accompany us and with whom we will share this discovery. The society is then erased, as well as the notions of right and wrong, to make space for the relationship that unite the two beings, the two bodies. She becomes the protagonist, elusive, extraordinary, founder of a new universe. She seems unique… yet she is already so common. Simple Adan and Eva all over again, among others.

    Shipwreck

    2015

Iceland and its west fjords can only invite to introspection. Once again, one time, one space, but different places, one body… a journey into oneself, one’s body and one’s soul. A solitary wandering leading to those unusual places hidden in the most isolated region of Iceland. And the movement as an unceasing reflexion. A meeting between the I and the Me that enter into collision or find peace in those deserted places. Abandoned house, reshaped by the passing time and extreme weather from the North; this industrial tank, forgotten, letting the outside penetrate little by little into its empty and resonating heart; this theatre sham, warm and worrying, short of missed or wished events; this beached boat since a forgotten number of years, melting and disappearing step by step into the landscape; and a lot of others human traces taking naturals colours thanks to the scares let by the life happening. And the see… surrounding and surrounded. This project is born thanks to the meeting of the dancer with the director Ađalgeir Gestur Vignisson, the filmmaker Árni Rúnar Hrólfsson and the musician Hjalti Steinn Sigurdarson.
