This collective improvisation, able to go from 2 to 20 people, is structured around a topic commonly decided between musicians and dancers depending on the format on each occasion. It is the most flexible and adaptable form of shared improvisations between jazz musicians and contemporary dancers proposed by the Company.
The environment offers the common base on which each weaves their own suggestion, danced or played, in relation with the others. Each improvised landscape goes on for approximately an hour (even though the length is adaptable) during which the meeting of the artists and the viewers imaginaries is experienced in a poetic and lyrical aesthetic.
Among these Improvising Landscapes some fixed structures have been repeated while adapting to the visual and sound context: Dancing in your head (variable); Orangutans Altérés (6 musicians and 4 dancers) built on the chord E4 in reference to a codified opening in chess; Conduction session (22 musicians and 3 dancers); Decabezating the windmill (5 musicians, 2 dancers, and 1 visual artist) elaborated in residence at Forest Cube; Roots Unrooted (2 dancers, 1 visual artist, and 1 multifunction technician) created as a tribute to the auditorium of the Icelandic theatre Tjarnabíó that was completely modified soon after.
