    It's the same old dream...

Presented for the first time on December 2012 as the end of carrier project of Juliette Louste (Conservatori Superior de Dansa at Institut del Teatre de Barcelona): It’s the same old dream… is one of the most emblematic creations of the Company. For this piece, Juliette Louste has received a mention of honour and the congratulations of the jury formed by personalities such as Roberto Fratini, Neus Fernandez, Victor Molina, Avelina Argüelles and Agustí Ros, all well known in the catalan scene. It is the result of a 4 years collaboration with the pianist musician Toni Vaquer. For this creation Juliette Louste and Toni Vaquer have summoned 18 artists among 20 and 30 years old, of heterogeneous geographic origins, found in Spain and considered as promising talents each in his own speciality.

This collective creation interpreted by 7 dancers and 7 musicians is built around the circle of fifths and is articulated on the following geometric principle: the opposed points of a same line meet when this one becomes a circle.

From this precept, a thought is installed around the similitudes and the differences between 2 eras narrowly linked yet apparently opposed: the medieval era and the contemporary era. The sacred origins of jazz and the future of the world in its biblical apocalyptic version are questioned.

On stage, the 7 dancers and 7 musicians play with the circular character of the explored elements being profane or spiritual, mythological or sacred, medieval or contemporary. From the 7 notes of the circle of fifths, the exploration of the 7 capital sins is invited by an apocalyptic journey of penitence and redemption, towards a purgatory full of hope and humour.

From before the start of the performance, the stage is open to the audience with the immobile presence of the head of tribe, standing as a vestige in a dark and desolate universe, it submerges the viewer in an atmosphere of end of the world. Black out. Little by little, the shadow of the musicians and their instruments surrounds the stage while a trumpet emerges among the audience. The tune has been given. This metallic universe will be populated of disturbing creatures yet so familiars. And the universal life begins to develop, giving death and life, in a combat of titans animated with a splendid energy of caustic sonorities and rhythms.

A visual and sound universe with a great rigour of conception, composition and aesthetic.

In the journey in which the audience is invited, the destination is not an issue. Each one is a part of it, independently from his origin and his destination. Artists and audience meet in the place of poetry or drama, harmony or conflict, sentiment of identical or different, dark or light, beautiful or misshapen, humour or irony…
