Seems that the intuition always know more than you… To begin, thanks to this extra week in Iđno (Reykjavík, for the Menningarnótt), Edyta ask me to come to “help" on their festival C / U (Body / Mind) Warsaw International Dance Festival. Last moment, the calendar could fit, with some adjustment, so there we go… ready for another dance adventure on the year! Coming from Iceland, passing by Barcelona to close some dance project, let’s go back to Warsaw (10 years later!)… I "love" this city…”the worst of Poland… so weird, so sad, so fake… Again, it’s an intuition… a mix between a memory and an innocent constatation… but through the day passed there and the long conversation I could share, I could understand it a little bit better why and how… Working in the Pałac Kultury i Nauki (Stalin’s gift to the city) was actually a wonderful historical experience… Making real dance shows on this building so full of ghosts have been totally part of this random feeling about the city. And filming dance improvisation in some forbidden part of the building contribute to this all “absurd” week… as much as working with a crew of polish men technician, building a black yoga boxe just in front of the building stage of the huge coming soon music festival and their workers, building a screaming spa in a historical protect building, working Shalala company faraway from home, meeting back and setting up some shows that I had set up in other place of the world, helping the great video artist (and better friend) to document this huge festival, helping in all the way I could this fantastic festival crew, setting up a travelling show and performing in it with this wonderful green lycra full combination all over the house, trying the famous polish vodka and meals in company of amazing people, those moments in "Napoleon's ass office", this marvellous this abandoned hospital, thinking in crazy idea, this endless awesome talk with Edyta about the festival passing trough philosophy of dance, art, life and more… and more!… To resume another great dance experience, full in new learning, meeting, laughing, craziness… and always more…! A fantastic new point of view of Warsaw… waiting for the next one!
