...Theatres... international houses of craziest people...
I will never could express properly how much I love to spend time in theatre, how much I love to be doing stuffs inside of this houses where the only rules in the one of being building dreams, so short and real that we bring all the audience in a new ephemera real world, you change their reality for a while, you make them travel with you in a trip made out of your mind! Only the concept, is fabulous… so powerful and so useful for the all society (considering of course that the ones making this world are “good" people (you could make a book about all of that, let’s just not do it right now!), how artist use to be!). I love to be in theatres… in one side or this other of the stage, in one side or the other of the auditorium, in one side or the other of the technical desk… anywhere, for whatever… it’s always a new story, an adventure, and a new shared world! Actually, is that my favourite place in the world?! The theatres?… totally neutral places, ready to be characterised in a way or another, or even another one that we can’t even imagine… Neutral places full of ghosts, all kind of ghosts. Neutral places where everything is possible, and just depend on the work of each body that habite it. Neutral places asking to lose its neutrality. And everywhere in the world, theatres are the same, and yet so different! Buildings, technical installations, backstages, equipments, auditoriums, crews, ways of working, ways of doing stuffs, kinds of pieces, rules… each theatre is a micro world and all together they create a parallel univers, without rules, and yet so full to them… I could probably entertain you for hours talking (again) about how everything is connected, and here in concret how Art (as much traditional one that popular one!) is related to Society and Civilisation where it crew up, how is that depends on People, and Ways of seing the world, and how that’s actually reflected in the (what we will call in a resumed way here) Art-Time-and-Space, or in another words the Theatres and Venues. Well, basically the last years I have been moving me from theatres to venues, and from events to festivals… (and I hope it will get every times more and for really long time!) and this time, from Icelandic theatre to Spanish venues to finish in Montpellier (Danse) Festival… … … thanks (again and again) to Israel Galvàn and Akram Khan and their (amazingly fantastic) crew! Montpellier Danse Festival… new fantastic adventures were waiting for me there! As usual, even better that expected! (well… the fact to not be expecting nothing is actually always good for that!)… I will pass you the details… to begin because lots of you will perhaps find them totally not relevant, and then because for the other ones it could sounds totally pretentious! So to resume… after new moments, and always so good and rich, share with this Torobaka’s crew, some “VIP" dance society party including incredibles exchange with some of the huge dance figures I always follow (from so far away), some discovery of amazing venues and their backstage, including all the crew, I could keep going my way with this stop moment in time and space where you suddenly have this weird feeling to make part of some society you always pursue… Is that possible that all the dreams could come true?!?!… (through work, willing, energy… and keep on dreaming, moving, living, smiling, dreaming and dreaming…)
