Juliette Louste Company
The core of the company is composed by Juliette Louste, dancer and choreographer, Toni Vaquer, pianist and composer, Tura Gómez Coll, dancer, Wojtek Kaniewsky, visual artist, and Victor Perralta, scenographer.
The full collective hosts a dozen dancers, a dozen musicians, plastic artists, audio-visual artists, photographers, directors, playwrights…
Coming from different geographic, cultural and artistic horizons, the group is characterised by a great heterogeneity moved by this common idea of sharing languages, points of view, gifts, and talents from each individu. The energy and dynamism of the company as well as its aesthetic, artistic richness and quality are born thanks to the fusion of personalities and Art from each of them, as well as the variety of their taken roads, all full of talent, ambition and determination despite their youth.
Challenging the rules, to recreate them differently later on, expressing the structures of the music, assemblage of notes, rhythms, harmonies, and melodies, put together with the structures of dance, movement combinations, and movement of the body in space, the work is conceived as a game of construction of visual universes nourished from the jazz music’s vibration and the contemporary dance’s organic flow.
From a specific theme, an image, a concept, a story, each piece, creation, and project grows around the curiosity, wisdom, particularities and worries of each one of the members. Each creation develops a visual and sound world given with a language in a perpetual state of evolution, feeding on the freshness and spontaneity as well as improvisation, harmony and strength of the written themes, creating a dialogue between music and dance.
The group aims to make the audience travel, whatever their origins horizon. Either if the work is taking a direction of pedagogic transmission or artistic creation, without any explicative or illustrative pretension; the game always allows multiple readings. Everyone is invited to make their own interpretation, their own translation of the world presented before them.
The resulting aesthetic is, at the same time, extraordinary and familiar, instantaneous and extemporal, singular and universal.
