Dance in Music and Muisc in Dance...
The Compagnie Juliette Louste propose improvisation sessions destined to professional dancers and band musicians, whichever their style, their technical level, and also to amateurs tempted by the experience. These two types of participants are sometimes grouped together and sometimes separated, for a better adaptation of the proposition for each one’s competences. The number of attendants is quite free, varying from 5 to 30 people, and the length of a session is 3 hours.
Structured in 3 phases, the sessions suggest a first technical, corporal and rhythmic warm up, so to try the movement as an audio element, the rhythm and the music as spatial and visual elements, allowing to explore each one’s instrument or the person behind the instrument.
The second phase is organized around improvisation games, strictly elaborated, together codified but also free, individual or collective, which allow for an exploration of the different elements of each language.
The third phase is built around an improvisation guided and directed according to the needs of the group.
The aim is to explore collectively this close relationship between music and dance and to live in a magic moment of exchange where everybody has the feeling of turning into a dancer and musician without age or technical competences distinction.
The sessions will develop in a sufficiently big and open room. Each one must bring comfortable closes allowing for free movement including floor-work, their instruments if they possess them, being classic or improvised such as sticks, metal objects, plastic tubes, etc.
Each element of this big exploration field which is the collective improvisation, and what it implies, can be addressed and work after specific topic sessions with a defined group according to demand.
